Archive Remix Editor for Extra magazine #1: the Sci-Fi edition, FOMU, 2008, pp. 1-35.

Archive Remix juxtaposes science fiction film stills, NASA space observation shots, found images from the internet, fake photos, psychedelic and futuristic pictures from young image-makers flirting with new media, software and pixel aesthetics and curious found objects that trigger an unheimlich, otherworldly imagination. In this post-photographic epoch, the visualisation of what lies beyond the bounds of perception is no longer fulfilled by science fiction. It has become the province of the newest digital information technologies and image manipulations. And yet ... was this capacity to turn reality inside out, to metamorphose our perception, to furnish glimpses of another world 'out there,' this power of alienating our objective world - was this not always already the essence of photography from the start?
